President Jokowi Announced 7 Companies Will Relocate to Batang Industrial Park

 

During his visit to Batang Industrial Park, President Joko Widodo announced that 7 different companies will relocate their production facilities to Indonesia, with 17 more are currently in process. Accompanied by several relevant ministers, including the Chairman of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, President Jokowi visited Batang Industrial Park to inspect the progress of the industrial zone development, which is planned to be built in 2021.


During his visitation, he explained the country needs to get ready for the opportunity to absorb post COVID-19 relocation and has instructed BKPM to oversee and facilitate all the investor needs, including the land acquisition process to accelerate investment and jobs creation. According to Rizal Calvary from BKPM, land acquisition of 450 hectare for Batang Industrial Park will be relatively easy as the area is currently under the control of the state government. This industrial park is expected to attract around US$37 billion investment and create more than 112 thousand jobs.
